PLEASE, READ THROUGH MY STORY

Image
Hello friends, it's another weekend at the corner. My prayer for you is that, the fuel wahala will not spoil any of your good plans for this weekend in Jesus name. Today, I just feel like sharing my story with you. Although the story is not really about me but my father. But, it’s my story because I was the one that was really affected. The people that will appreciate or understand my story better are actually my very close friends, colleagues of my unit in my office, and some very close neighbours who know my father or who can remember how I use to travel to Delta from Lagos frequently because of my father's health challenges. Then, that is almost a year plus now, I always visit my village in Delta at least once every month. My father, by the grace of God is in his late 80s now but, the journey this far was not so smooth. At a time, my father was a regular patient at several hospitals (private and public) within our area in Delta State. If it was not High Blood Pressure,

TOP 4 BUSINESSES THAT MAKE SUPER PROFITS DURING PERIOD OF ECONOMIC RECESSION

What is economic recession? The U.S. based National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) defines a recession as "a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in real GDP growth, real personal income, employment, industrial production, and wholesale-retail sales." Recession usually comes with a lot of difficult challenges and pains for the masses but my reason for writing this note is not to remind you of the pains which you might be going through now but, to show you solutions and opportunities that are also associated with recession. Every problem that man encounters in life is an opportunity also. For instance, when there is war, the victims suffer and die but the people that deal in weapons and other supplies for executing wars will be smiling. So, in this period of recession, while many people are crying because they lost their job, or because the high cost of living has overshadowed their meager

YOUR LIVER REQUIRES ADEQUATE GLUTATHIONE TO FUNCTION EFFICIENTLY

Image
Your liver's main job is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract, before passing it to the rest of the body. The liver also detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs. As it does so, it secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines. The liver also makes proteins important for blood clotting and other functions. But expelling a toxin isn’t easy. In phase one, liver enzymes must convert the toxin into a compound that can be flushed. In phase two, glutathione is used to grab hold of the toxin and escort it out of the body via urine or bile. If there isn’t enough glutathione on hand, the toxins stack up in your body like cars in a traffic jam. That is why, efficient liver function is extremely important to your overall health and this depends on constant supplies of antioxidant nutrients. If the liver isn't working efficiently and antioxidant defenses are low, the effects can be seen in any cell, tissue or organ in the body. A vast constellation of symptoms

THE EMERGING GLOBAL HEALTH CRISIS: DOES IT GIVE YOU ANY CONCERN?

Image
According to a recent research publication on "The Emerging Crisis: Noncommunicable Diseases" by The Council on Foreign Relations, it has been observed that the gravest health threats facing low and middle-income countries like Nigeria are not the plagues, parasites, mosquitoes, rats and blights that dominate the news cycle and international relief efforts. To them, the greatest threats to our health are the everyday diseases that everybody understands and talks about, but fails to take action against. In their report, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and other Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), also referred to as chronic diseases have emerged as the leading cause of death and disability in developing countries. For instance, in 2013 alone, these diseases killed eight million people aged below 60 years in these countries. Most painful is the fact that, the greater number of the death and disability from NCDs in these nations is higher among the working class
