GREAT PLAN THAT CAN HELP YOU TO WORRY LESS IN 2016

Image
Retirement is one of the most important life events that everybody is bound to experience. It is an experience that you cannot avoid unless you die much younger. But, my prayer is that the almighty God will not allow you to die young in Jesus name. I was compelled to write this note after considering the ordeals of most of the retirees from my place of work. One of them, while lamenting to me recently said, “The greatest regret that I am living with today is that, if I had known that retirement will be this tough, I should have embezzled enough money while in service.” Another one said, “The government is actually punishing retirees because, the value of the naira keeps depreciating while prices keeps going higher and higher but our little stipends does not increase.” Hello, it is better to learn from the experiences of others. Do not let the amount of money that you are earning today to continue to blindfold you; a day is coming, very very soon when you will be out of the job

HOW TO DEVELOP THE BEST AND COST-EFFECTIVE PERSONAL HEALTH PLAN IN TIMES OF ECONOMIC RECESSION

Image
A period of economic recession is usually characterized by sustained decline in economic activities which usually impacts negatively on the standard of living of the people. That is exactly what we are experiencing now in Nigeria; even as President Muhammed Buhari has openly declared that the nation is broke. Almost everybody is complaining that business is not moving as there is no money in the system. As it is going, if urgent steps are not taken to arrest the situation, it could degenerate into economic depression. Now that we have found ourselves in this kind of very challenging situation, it is not the best of times to start apportioning blames between the past administration and the present rather, it is a time for devising survival strategies. For many people, this may result to a drastic reduction in their spending while some will also be on the look out for how to create more than one source of income. Healthcare delivery in our nation is one area that has not really

‘WHY NIGERIANS’ LIFE EXPECTANCY IS FALLING’ – ENOUGH OF TALKS AND TIME FOR ACTION

Image
The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite statistic developed by the United Nations to measure and rank countries' levels of social and economic development based on four criteria: Life expectancy at birth, mean years of schooling, expected years of schooling and gross national income per capita. In simple terms it is the actual measurement of the development of people since economic growth alone can't explain development. But, it is very unfortunate that over the years in Nigeria, no serious attention has been accorded to the nation’s HDI reports. The simple reason is because, the content of the reports are usually not news to us. The content of these reports no longer pricks the heart of our leaders. Of course why should it bother them; have you ever seen any of them queue up for treatment at any of our government owned hospitals? That is why you should be concerned about your health. The HDI report that pegs life expectancy in Nigeria at 52years should be a t

CARELESS DEATH – URGENT STEPS YOU MUST TAKE

Careless could be described as, not giving sufficient attention or thought to what one does, unconcerned, indifferent; to avoiding harm, danger or errors. So, careless death is death that would have been avoided if diligent attention or necessary care was taking. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( http://www.cdc.gov/globalhealth/countries/nigeria/why/ ), the top 10 Causes of Death in Nigeria are as follows: Malaria         -           20% Lower Respiratory Infections             -           19% HIV    -           9% Diarrheal Diseases -        5% Road Injuries         -           5% Protein-Energy Malnutrition -           4% Cancer          -           3% Meningitis   -           3% Stroke           -           3% Tuberculosis          -           2% If you consider the kind of environment that we live today in Nigeria, you will agree with me that the above statistics is rather very conservative because of God’s mercies. SIMPLE WAYS OF MANAGING CASH FLOW CHALLENGES BY MICRO/SMALL-MEDIUM SCALE ENTERPRISES By Godwin O. Elue

Image
The igbo man’s definition of business as the act of “using money to pursue money” accurately summarizes the fact that cash is the lifeblood of any business venture. No wonder it is generally described as the king in business. Apart from the fact that money or cash is the most important resource that is required to establish any business, it is also what keeps every business enterprise running. But, poor cash flow management has been one of the greatest factors contributing to the high rate of business failures of micro/small-medium scale enterprises. Thus, finding the most efficient ways to manage cash flow is one of the most important tasks facing every business owner/manager, irrespective of the size and nature of the venture. Today, with the challenges of a weakened economy and limited resources, managing businesses, regardless of size and industry has increasingly become a very complex issue. Therefore, the success of any business enterprises today goes beyond having a gre

DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS: BE AWARE THAT THE TERM NATURAL DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN SAFE.

There is no doubt that the challenges of our daily activities do not allow us to actually plan our diets to reflect all the essential nutrients that our body requires on daily basis. Research findings shows that our plates are lacking in a number of essential nutrients, including calcium, potassium, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, and D. It’s no wonder that so many people are turning to dietary supplements to augment. According to David Lariviere, a contributor in Forbes Magazine, the nutritional supplement or more broadly known as Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements, or VMS market is today one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Producing about $32 billion in revenue for just nutritional supplements alone in 2012, it is projected to double that by topping $60 billion in 2021 according to the Nutritional Business Journal. The United States of America Food and Drug Administration (FDA) explained that dietary supplements include vitamins, minerals, and other less fami
