The report also reveals that the rising cases of stroke in the country are frightening with over 160,000 cases recorded annually.

In a related report, Dr. Ebun Bamgboye, Chief Medical Director of St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos and member Nigeria Association of Nephrology says that, about 23 per cent of Nigerians are suffering from various stages of kidney/renal disease.

Apart from all these chronic diseases mentioned here, there are however many other chronic health conditions and diseases that many people are battling with today such as mental disorders, vision and hearing impairment, oral diseases, bone and joint disorders, and genetic disorders.
