Image
There's something going on in your body right now and I don't want you to continue to be ignorant of it. Have you ever heard about what is called Oxidative Stress? In case you don't know please be patient a little to read what I am about to share with you here. Just as apples turn brown when exposed to air because of oxidation process that goes on when the inside of the apple gets exposed to oxygen, that is exactly what happens inside your body when you breath in oxygen. We cannot live without oxygen; our cells use almost all of the oxygen we breathe in for energy production. But around two percent of it doesn’t get used. This “extra” oxygen splits into single atoms which is called Free radicals. Free radicals can cause large chain chemical reactions in your body because they react so easily with other molecules. These reactions are called oxidation. Oxidative stress, on the other hand, occurs when there’s an imbalance between free radical activity an...

USEFUL HEALTH TIPS FOR FASTING

But to avoid these negative effects of fasting and also to help you maximize the spiritual and also the health benefits of fasting, it is important to take note of the following tips: First, you must coordinate your eating especially when you want to break your fast. HOW HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE CAN LEAD TO STROKE

Image
According to the American Heart Association, high blood pressure or hypertension is the number one risk factor of stroke. More than half of all stroke cases resulted from uncontrolled high blood or hypertension.  This is rather unfortunate because, according to health experts if people pay more attention to managing their blood pressure, over 80% of strokes cases can be prevented. This can be easily achieved by ensuring that your blood pressure is within the healthy range (lower than 120/80). HOW DOES HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE LEAD TO STROKE? If your blood pressure reading is consistently 130/80 and above, that means you have hypertension. Hypertension puts your arteries under constant stress. There are two main types of strokes associated with high blood pressure: A stroke may occur when a blood vessel to the brain is either blocked by a clot – this type of stroke is more common and it is called ischemic stroke. Cerebral thrombosis and cerebral embolism are common types o...
